The Birds

$800.00

Acrylics and oil markers on canvas

2018

This series explores the expressive power of repetition. Built from thousands of carefully placed dots, each painting develops through rhythm, accumulation, and variation. The dots create visual vibrations that suggest movement, growth, and transformation, allowing abstract forms to emerge from seemingly simple elements.

In The Birds, clusters of bright colors gather against a deep black background, creating the impression of a flock suspended in space. The composition is animated by the contrast between luminous blues, reds, yellows, and whites, whose rhythms echo the unpredictable patterns of birds moving together through the sky.

The painting is less concerned with depicting actual birds than with capturing their collective energy. Individual forms appear and disappear, merging into larger movements. The dots function like feathers, currents of air, or fragments of sound, creating a sense of continuous motion across the surface.

The dark background enhances the brilliance of the colors, allowing the forms to glow as if illuminated from within. Some areas feel dense and concentrated, while others open into lighter passages, creating a balance between gathering and dispersal, presence and flight.

Through color, rhythm, and repetition, The Birds becomes a meditation on community, movement, and the invisible forces that connect individual beings into a larger whole. The painting invites viewers to experience both the freedom of flight and the beauty of belonging.
